Government Should Provide Fund Free Health Care

Fund Free Health Care for Everyone

The right to health is a fundamental part of human rights and our understanding of a dignified life. The right to enjoy the highest standards of physical, and mental health that can be achieved. In Indonesia, there are many people who have not been able to enjoy high standards of physical and mental health. Therefore, I agree with the statement that the government should provide free healthcare funds through taxes paid by the public. Here are some of my arguments about my agreement with the statement above.

First, its human rights to get the protection of lives, one of the government’s responsibilities is to make sure their citizens’ right to life is kept because human rights are one of the most important values. And this is in accordance with the statement in the constitution of article 34 paragraph 3 of 1945 in which the State is responsible for providing adequate health care facilities and public service facilities. One of the ways is to provide free health services to the community, with this in mind that people from the rich and the poor will feel more respected by their country and also gives them protection of life.
The second reason is increasing economic benefit, a good health care system will give a contribution to the economy of the country because by having the universal health care it will reduce the amount that company used to provide health insurance.  For example, Japan has a universal health care system. Toyota’s production cost is 1400 dollars lower than the cost of American manufacturers. It’s lead to a competitive advantage for Japan and creating benefits for Japan as the country.
And the last is increasing taxpayers’ willingness in paying taxes, by giving free health care as one of the benefits in paying tax will attract the taxpayers to pay their taxes. As we know in Indonesia the tax system has already run well and it has clear rules and regulations. By paying taxes people can give their contribution to help others to get their rights to life through free health care programs.
Some people think that providing free health care causing the over budget by the governments, which leads the other sector needs to cover the over budget and its decrease the economic benefits for the country, but the fact is that Japan as one of the countries that have a free healthcare system actually has a competitive advantage because they can produce goods cheaper than countries that do not provide these facilities and charge them to companies. This proves that providing free health care also provides economic benefits and free health care funds through taxes can increase state revenues compared to paying for insurance companies.
